A home inspection does not eliminate risk to the buyer, however, a thorough inspection can help reduce risk. An inspection is intended to communicate what an inspector can reasonably observe during the visit to the property; it will not predict every potential repair encountered while owning a house. Of course an inspection does not constitute an insurance policy.
  WINTER TIPS

Salt Your Popcorn, Not Your Concrete
One of the worst enemies of your concrete sidewalk and driveway is salt. The surface damage may not show up until the next summer. It starts with small pits and chips but sooner or later the top of the concrete slab will be filled with bigger holes and pits. Snow and ice can be removed by using a chemical designed especially for use on concrete. It can usually be purchased at the same store where you buy salt. Salt can be used on asphalt driveways without harm.

Furnace Filters Can Save You Money
A dirty furnace filter causes your furnace to work harder because of the reduced air flow to the blower motor. The reduced air flow also lowers the efficiency of the furnace by preventing the proper amount of air from passing across the heat exchanger. Lost heat goes up your chimney instead of heating your house. The heat exchanger in your furnace can eventually overheat which may cause premature failure of the heat exchanger. All this boils down to checking and cleaning or replacing your furnace filter every thirty days. Get in the habit of checking your smoke detectors and changing your furnace filters every time you change your monthly calendar.
